Binds Oxidized LDL. It is monovalent and only binds one epitope , and thus allows stoichiometric quantitation of the antigen in vitro. It can be imaged on a properly equipped fluorescent microscope as well as detected in a flow cytometer or other fluorometric system. At 50-52 kD it is roughly 1/3 the size of an IgG antibody making it less likely to cause steric hindrance. Due to being recombinant and intrinsically fluorescent, each antibody lot is identical to the next, eliminating the necessity for re-titration.
