Sandia Biotech, Inc. is a privately held New Mexico C-Corporation located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, specializing in novel proprietary antibody and protein based reagents for use by biomedical scientists in the laboratory. We currently offer three different product lines: split fluorescent proteins "sFPs" in various colors designed primarily to determine proper protein folding; G-protein estrogen receptors; and our newest line of recombinant, fluorescent antibody derivatives called FluorAbodies™.

FluorAbodies - In November 2015, Sandia Biotech licensed a patented, recombinant fluorescent antibody platform (RFAP) from STC.UNM, the technology transfer organization of the University of New Mexico (UNM) and Queen Mary University London (QMUL) to develop a novel panel of recombinant intrinsically fluorescent antibody derivatives. These "FluorAbodies™" are sold for research use now and eventually for disease diagnosis and treatment.  We have begun to produce a large quantity of different FluorAbodies™, each directed against a different antigen and are available on our website in four different colors, Red, Blue, Cerulean and Citrine.

Sandia Biotech’s recombinant fluorescent antibody derivatives, FluorAbodies™ or FluorAbs™, are not derived from animal hosts and offer a number of advantages over traditional and recombinant antibodies. FluorAbodies™ are recombinant, (derived from bacteria) intrinsically fluorescent proteins, meaning the fluorophore is built into the antibody synthetically, so they  do not need to be conjugated by the end user; therefore, eliminating many of the labor intensive protocols necessary when working with conjugated antibodies.. They have a consistent, effective fluorophore: Protein (F:P) ratio of 1:1. FluorAbodies™ making them easily quantifiable.  Each FluorAbody™ is very stable and does not vary from lot to lot, saving our customers time and money and assuring them that they will have stability and consistency as they reorder FluorAbodies™.

Split Fluorescent Proteins- Since December 2009 SBI has manufactured protein and peptide analysis tools based on Split Green Fluorescent Protein “GFP” technology, which is licensed from Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). These tools are now available in different colors and are marketed to the academic, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical research communities throughout the world to facilitate protein folding analysis and quantitation. They are available on our website as protein, detection and analysis tools and also through our distributors, (MilliporeSigma, Funakoshi, Interchim, Protein Technologies).

G Protein Estrogen Receptors- Sandia Biotech recently acquired a line of G-protein analysis compounds from Azano Scientific that are also available for purchase on this site.
